The Centre for Ocular Research & Education (CORE) has released issue 87 of 'Contact Lens Update,' focusing on the third edition of the Tear Film & Ocular Surface Society Dry Eye WorkShop report (TFOS DEWS III). The new issue delivers expert-authored summaries and downloadable PDFs designed to help eye care professionals quickly understand the report’s key conclusions and recommended clinical actions, with particular attention to what has evolved since TFOS DEWS II was published in 2017. The publication is available at no charge at ContactLensUpdate.com.
“Dry eye disease is a commonly encountered problem that adversely affects the lives of millions,” said Lyndon Jones, PhD, Principal Scientist at CORE and a TFOS Board member. “Since the release of TFOS DEWS II, over 8,000 additional peer-reviewed articles have been published on the topic. Due to that sheer volume, it is important to reassess what we know and our approaches. Recognizing that many practitioners may not have the time to read the entire report, the latest issue of Contact Lens Update provides an overview of the most critically important findings.”
As part of Issue 87’s clinical insight, CORE has produced downloadable handouts summarizing the TFOS DEWS III Digest, Diagnostic Methodology, and Management and Therapy sub-reports. These PDFs provide concise overviews of each report’s highlights to support practitioners in expanding their knowledge and enhancing diagnosis and management strategies.
In addition to a complete archive of past issues, ContactLensUpdate.com features a resource library offering no-cost professional tools, patient resources, images, and video, along with complimentary technical training videos produced by the International Association of Contact Lens Educators and an industry glossary. Industry professionals can access the latest issue directly on the site or sign up to receive future issues by email.
