SECO International Names Dr. R. Max Raynor as 2021 President

SECO International has named R. Max Raynor, OD, as the next president. His term began on March 7, 2020, and will last through February 28, 2021. Dr. Raynor officially accepted the honor during the House of Delegates meeting held on Saturday, March 7 at SECO 20/20.

“Dr. Raynor has dedicated many years to SECO and the profession and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome him as our organization’s next president,” Max Ernst, OD, President of SECO International, said in a company news release. “Under his thoughtful and creative leadership, I’m confident that SECO will continue to serve its members and stakeholders well by providing optometrists and ophthalmic professionals with the tools and insights they need to be successful.”

Dr. Raynor holds a BSBA in Economics from East Carolina University and a BSBA in Biology and Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry. Dr. Raynor has been practicing in North Carolina for 34 years, successfully operating a large multi-office practice in Eastern North Carolina. Dr. Raynor served as president of North Carolina Optometric Society from 2006 and was appointed to serve as the North Carolina Trustee to SECO in 2010.

Dr. Raynor is committed to supporting SECO member states, optometry schools, and affiliate partners with education grants, SECO University, and access to leading-edge education.
