The first over-the-counter (OTC) pink eye treatment is expected be availalbe beginning in 2027, according to its manufacturer Clearsight Therapeutics.

Cartwheel, a provider a OTC healthcare products, signed a letter of intent (LOI) to license Clearsight's pink eye treatment beginning in 2027. Clearsight, which was founded by eye care industry veterans, develops treatments for common eye conditions that affect millions each year.

Over the next 12 months, Cartwheel and Clearsight will work together to finalize licensing terms, prepare for regulatory review, and begin go-to-market planning.

Commercial launch of the OTC treatment is anticipated in 2027.
