X-Cel Specialty Contacts and Essilor Custom Contacts announced a manufacturing milestone with the ROSE K lens portfolio—one of the most widely used designs for irregular corneas—now to be fully produced in-house at the companies’ US facility in Duluth, Georgia.
The transition marks a significant step toward enhancing quality control, production efficiency, and practitioner support for the ROSE K system for keratoconus and other irregular corneal conditions.
“This transition gives us greater control over how ROSE K lenses are produced and delivered—without changing the proven design doctors trust,” said Derrell James, vice president and general manager for X-Cel and Essilor Custom Contacts. “Our ISO 13485:2016–registered medical device quality management system reinforces our commitment to world-class quality and precision, delivering even greater reliability and speed with every lens.”
Practitioners can expect:
- Streamlined production and shipping;
- ISO 13485-registered quality;
- Experienced fitting consultants; and
- Improved traceability and consistency.
“This transition reflects our ongoing commitment to partnership, precision, and practitioner success,” added Jeff Birk, director of operations for X-Cel and Essilor Custom Contacts. “Doctors can expect the same trusted ROSE K designs; now produced faster, under an ISO 13485–registered medical device quality management system and fully supported by our dedicated fitting consultants.”
