Sightview has launched a new electronic health record (EHR) and practice management (PM) platform for ophthalmologists, introducing updated workflows, a redesigned user interface, and expanded clinical information displays while retaining familiar elements of the company’s existing ophthalmology software.
The company said the new platform builds on its established ophthalmology EHR and PM technology, with an emphasis on reducing friction in daily clinical and administrative tasks. The updated technological foundation is also designed to support future enhancements and integrations.
“Sightview has built a large and loyal customer base by keeping our focus squarely on the unique needs and challenges of the eyecare specialty,” said Tycene Fritcher, CEO of Sightview. “We listened carefully to user feedback to keep the best parts of our solutions intact, while uncovering opportunities to modernize and improve usability.”
According to Mr. Fritcher, the resulting platform offers a cleaner user interface while seeking to eliminate unnecessary steps from routine tasks.
Developed in collaboration with ophthalmologists and other eye care clinicians, the platform features standardized colors and simplified screen views intended to make important information easier to identify. Sightview also updated workflows to more closely reflect how clinicians deliver care while preserving familiar processes for existing users.
An enhanced Patient-at-a-Glance feature provides clinicians with a concise view of a patient’s clinical context, including summaries, history, and trends in findings, laboratory results, and vital signs from previous encounters. The platform is also designed to provide end-to-end functionality spanning optical care through surgical ophthalmology. Sightview said a single chart can follow patients across their care journey, including encounters with technicians, optometrists, and ophthalmologists.
Existing Sightview ophthalmology customers are currently transitioning to the new platform, according to the company. The solution is also available to new customers.
