RxSight announced the appointments of Taryn Conway as chief commercial officer and Frank Shields as executive vice president of sales and commercial strategy as part of a broader initiative to strengthen commercial execution and expand adoption of its Light Adjustable Lens (LAL) technology.
According to RxSigfht, the appointments support the company's ongoing commercial transformation, which includes expanding and realigning its field organization to increase customer engagement, improve practice support, and address barriers to broader utilization of LAL technology.
“Over the past several months, we have prioritized investment to strengthen our commercial organization, and the appointments of Taryn and Frank are another important step in that process,” said Aziz Mottiwala, president and CEO of RxSight. “Their extensive experience in eye care and track record of driving the adoption of innovative technologies will be instrumental as we advance the next phase of our commercial strategy, with a greater emphasis on customer engagement and utilization.”
Ms. Conway brings more than 20 years of commercial leadership experience across eye care, pharmaceuticals, and medical aesthetics. Most recently, she served as vice president of medical and scientific affairs at Bausch + Lomb, overseeing medical strategy for its pharmaceutical and consumer businesses.
Previously, Ms. Conway was general manager of aesthetics at Revance Therapeutics, where she developed a commercial organization and led the launch of two product lines. She also held senior leadership positions at Allergan, focusing on ophthalmology, physician engagement, and market development.
Mr. Shields brings more than 30 years of experience in ophthalmology sales and commercial leadership. Before joining RxSight, he served as head of US surgical glaucoma at Bausch + Lomb following its acquisition of Elios Vision, where he was president.
His previous experience includes sales leadership positions at Ivantis, Revision Optics, and Bausch + Lomb, spanning cataract, refractive, and glaucoma technologies.
According to RxSight, the leadership appointments and organizational changes are intended to strengthen relationships with ophthalmic practices and provide additional support for integrating LAL technology into clinical workflows.
