Key Takeaways
- Orasis has launched a First Fill Free program through BlinkRx and introduced in-office dispensing of Qlosi in states where permitted to expand patient access
- The company reported a 49% refill rate since Qlosi's April 2025 US launch, which it says is approximately double that typically observed for prescription dry eye therapies at retail pharmacies
Orasis Pharmaceuticals announced two new access initiatives for Qlosi (pilocarpine hydrochloride ophthalmic solution) 0.4%. The initiatives are designed to expand options for eye care professionals to help patients begin and continue treatment for presbyopia.
Orasis introduced a First Fill Free program through pharmacy partner BlinkRx, allowing eligible patients to receive their initial prescription at no cost, with standard pricing applying to subsequent fills. In addition, Qlosi is now available for in-office dispensing in states where permitted, enabling patients to leave their appointment with treatment in hand.
The new offerings complement BlinkRx home delivery and are designed to provide multiple access pathways while maintaining the prescribing relationship between patients and their eye care professionals, according to the company.
Since its US launch in April 2025, Qlosi has gained traction among prescribing eye care professionals, Orasis said. The company reported that thousands of ECPs have prescribed the therapy and that refill rates have reached 49%. According to Orasis, that refill rate is approximately twice that typically seen with prescription dry eye therapies dispensed through retail pharmacies, suggesting patients are experiencing meaningful improvements in near vision and continuing treatment.
The company also stated that no retinal tears or retinal detachments have been reported to the FDA since launch and that post-market experience has remained consistent with the efficacy, tolerability, and safety observed in the product's pivotal phase 3 clinical trials.
"Our goal has always been to help patients see clearly up close without reaching for readers," said Elad Kedar, CEO of Orasis Pharmaceuticals. "We built Qlosi around eye care professionals, not a direct-to-patient telehealth pathway. First Fill Free through BlinkRx and in-office dispensing give ECPs and patients more ways to access Qlosi, and a 49% refill rate, roughly double what is typically seen with dry eye prescription therapies at retail, tells us patients are seeing a meaningful result and choosing to stay on treatment."
Under the expanded access model, prescriptions filled through BlinkRx continue to be managed by the prescribing ECP, while in-office dispensing provides another option for practices in states where it is permitted.
Orasis said eye care professionals can access prescribing information and details about the First Fill Free program through the company's educational resources, while practices interested in in-office dispensing can order Qlosi directly where state regulations allow.
