Lumibird Medical has introduced Integre LIO, a wireless integrated laser indirect ophthalmoscope system designed to improve mobility and workflow efficiency during retinal laser procedures.
According to the company, Integre LIO is the first fully wireless integrated laser indirect ophthalmoscope, eliminating cables by incorporating both a cordless headset and wireless foot pedal. The system is intended for panretinal photocoagulation (PRP) and other peripheral retinal treatments performed in clinic and operating room settings.
The platform is powered by a 532 nm true green diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) photocoagulation laser. Lumibird Medical said the laser, battery pack and headset are integrated into a lightweight, ergonomic design intended to improve physician comfort during longer procedures while maintaining portability.
Among the system's new features is the Imprint heads-up display, which projects real-time laser power settings directly into the physician's field of view, allowing adjustments without looking away from the patient. The Integre LIO also includes a Smart Footswitch with an integrated display that enables hands-free adjustment and titration of laser settings.
"With Integre LIO, we are redefining the standard for indirect laser photocoagulation," said Jean-Marc Gendre, chief executive officer of Lumibird Medical. "By combining true wireless freedom with advanced visualization and robust 532 nm technology, this system empowers clinicians to deliver safer, more efficient treatments while prioritizing patient outcomes and physician ergonomics."
The Integre LIO has received FDA clearance and is available for order through Lumibird Medical Inc. The company also announced that the system will be showcased at the American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS) Annual Scientific Meeting, scheduled for July 15-18, 2026, in Montréal, where attendees can view the device at the Lumibird Medical exhibit.
