The system includes 11 tests, age-adapted workflows, and reporting tools for clinical interpretation and longitudinal monitoring
Hundred Vision has introduced Luma, an eye-tracking and visual function assessment system designed to provide eye care professionals with objective measurements of oculomotor performance, binocular vision, and reading-related visual function.
Unveiled during a global livestream coinciding with World Sight Day, Luma is designed to complement conventional visual acuity testing by measuring how the eyes fixate, track moving targets, shift gaze, and coordinate during visual tasks. The system combines a Tobii eye-tracking sensor, interactive display, patient-response keypad, and assessment software. Red-green dichoptic glasses are incorporated into selected binocular vision tests.
Luma's initial version includes 11 tests across five domains: symptoms, foundational visual function, oculomotor function, binocular alignment and function, and reading assessment. Measurements include fixation stability, saccadic accuracy and latency, smooth pursuit performance, vergence responses, and reading speed.
Assessment workflows are tailored to five age groups, beginning at age 3. Clinicians can also customize test batteries according to individual assessment objectives.
According to Hundred Vision, development involved more than 19,000 hours of clinical work, development, and testing, informed by over 1,000 interactions with eye care professionals.
The system generates reports tailored to clinicians, patients or parents, and other health care professionals. Clinical reports include quantitative measurements, eye-movement visualizations, recording-quality information, and age-referenced comparisons where available.
Luma also supports longitudinal assessments, allowing clinicians to compare measurements across visits and monitor changes in visual performance.
The company emphasized that Luma does not establish diagnoses or recommend treatment. Findings must be interpreted alongside patient history, symptoms, and other clinical examination results.
