  • Eyedaptic launched Eva, an agentic AI assistant that integrates natural-language processing with vision enhancement in EYE7 smart glasses

  • Company testing demonstrated greater than 99% reading accuracy and 97% command accuracy, with support for up to 99 languages

Eyedaptic announced the launch of Eva (Eyedaptic Visual Assistant), an agentic AI assistant integrated into its EYE7 Vision Enhancing Smart Glasses platform to help individuals with age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and other visual impairments perform everyday activities.

Eva combines AI-based visual interpretation, natural-language processing, and direct control of the glasses' vision-enhancement features. Unlike conventional AI assistants that primarily provide information, Eva is designed to interpret user intent and automatically adjust visual settings in response to conversational requests.

For example, when a user says, "I can't read that," the system can interpret the request and modify the visual experience without requiring a specific command, according to Eyedaptic.

According to Eyedaptic, internal testing demonstrated greater than 99% reading accuracy and 97% command accuracy. The system also supports communication in up to 99 languages.

The technology is designed to assist with reading, shopping, identifying objects, watching television, navigating environments, and other daily activities.

“Eva is more than an assistant; it’s an intelligent partner,” said Jay Cormier, CEO & Founder of Eyedaptic. “By combining agentic AI with real-time control of vision enhancement, we are delivering a system that doesn’t just inform the user, but actively optimizes how they see to accomplish everyday tasks."

The company also cited findings from a recent independent clinical study in patients with advanced retinal disease, which demonstrated an average immediate improvement of 5.7 lines in near visual acuity using Eyedaptic technology.

Eva is now available to EYE7 users and can be upgraded remotely through the existing smart glasses platform.
