Claris Biotherapeutics announced it will relocate its corporate headquarters from Jersey City, New Jersey, to the San Francisco Bay Area as the company prepares to advance its lead ophthalmic candidate, CSB-001 (oremepermin alfa ophthalmic solution), into planned pivotal studies.
The new headquarters, at 701 Gateway Blvd., Suite 250, in South San Francisco, California, will become effective in October 2026. According to Claris, the relocation is intended to support its next stage of growth, including expansion of its workforce in clinical development, commercial operations, and finance.
The move comes as Claris prepares for pivotal development of CSB-001 in patients with limbal stem cell deficiency (LSCD), with studies planned to begin in the first half of 2027.
“The Bay Area is the birthplace of biotech and home to one of the world's deepest concentrations of biotech talent, capital, and scientific innovation, making it the ideal location for Claris as we work towards building a leading ophthalmology company,” Stephen Brady, president and CEO of Claris, said in a statement.
Mr. Brady added that the company expects its presence in the region to help it recruit additional personnel and establish infrastructure needed to support the CSB-001 clinical program and its longer-term ophthalmology pipeline.
The headquarters relocation follows several recent corporate developments at Claris, including the completion of a $118 million Series B financing. The company also recently appointed Mr. Brady as president and CEO, Brian Baum as chief commercial officer, and Marc de Garidel as chairman of the board.
