BVI announced the formation of its US Surgical Leadership Council. The council is composed of seven leaders across the fields of cataract, retina, and glaucoma surgery who are dedicated to shaping the future of ophthalmology through collaboration and insight-driven innovation, stated the company.
According to BVI, it is seeking to work with surgeons through the council to codevelop meaningful solutions across the full spectrum of eye care. The company noted that the council members have been instrumental in guiding the industry over the years and will now collaborate with the company to help chart the course for the company’s next phase of growth.
The inaugural council members are:

- Sumit (Sam) Garg, MD
- Nathan Radcliffe, MD
- Firas Rahhal, MD
- Vance Thompson, MD
- George O. Waring IV, MD
- Robert J. Weinstock, MD
