Bausch + Lomb has launched the EyeGility inserter preloaded IOL delivery system in the United States, expanding its cataract surgery portfolio with a preloaded delivery option designed for the company's enVista IOL platform.
The device is designed for use with preloaded enVista Aspire IOLs and, in the coming months, enVista Envy IOLs. According to the company, the system is intended to streamline lens implantation while maintaining the clinical benefits associated with the enVista platform.
"The enVista IOL platform has long been appreciated by surgeons for its glistening-free optic and differentiated optic portfolio to suit a wide range of patients," said Wayne Caulder, vice president and general manager of North America Surgical at Bausch + Lomb. "The launch of EyeGility enables surgeons to continue delivering these benefits to their patients while also gaining the efficiencies and advantages offered by this preloaded IOL delivery system."
The EyeGility inserter features one-handed operation, balanced push force for controlled lens delivery, and a silicone soft-tipped plunger designed to support reliable IOL implantation through a 2.4-mm incision. Bausch + Lomb said the system also offers improved user comfort compared with its previous inserters and allows up to 20 minutes of standby time between preparation and lens delivery.
The EyeGility inserter is now available in the United States with enVista Aspire preloaded IOLs. Bausch + Lomb said enVista Envy lenses packaged with the EyeGility inserter are expected to become available in the coming months.
