Alcon will highlight technologies across cataract surgery, retina, glaucoma, and dry eye disease during the 2026 American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) annual meeting, taking place October 10-12 in New Orleans.
The company's exhibit will feature hands-on demonstrations of several technologies, including the Unity surgical platform and new Unity M ophthalmic microscope, Clareon PanOptix Pro and Clareon TruPlus IOLs, Valeda photobiomodulation (PBM), and Voyager DSLT.
“At AAO 2026, Alcon will demonstrate how innovation is redefining what’s possible in eye care,” Sergio Duplan, president of the Americas at Alcon, said in a statement. “Attendees will experience firsthand how our portfolio is helping shape the future of eye care through technologies and clinical solutions that support eye care professionals every day.”
Unity platform to anchor surgical demonstrations
The Unity platform will serve as a centerpiece of Alcon’s presence at the meeting, with attendees able to participate in demonstrations of its 2 configurations: the Unity VCS combined console and Unity CS standalone cataract system.
Alcon will also feature the recently launched Unity M ophthalmic microscope, which is designed to provide ophthalmic surgeons with precise control during procedures.
Together, the technologies are intended to support surgical visualization, workflow efficiency, and performance. Alcon said its representatives will offer one-on-one discussions and product demonstrations throughout the meeting.
Clareon portfolio expands cataract surgery offerings
In cataract surgery, Alcon will highlight Clareon PanOptix Pro, the latest addition to its trifocal IOL portfolio.
The company will also feature Clareon TruPlus IOLs, its next-generation monofocal and toric IOL platform. According to Alcon, the platform is designed to build on the performance of the existing Clareon family.
Valeda targets early and intermediate dry AMD
For retina specialists, Alcon will demonstrate the Valeda PBM system, an FDA-authorized treatment for patients with early and intermediate dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
The noninvasive technology uses photobiomodulation to deliver specific wavelengths of light to ocular tissue. Alcon will provide dedicated demonstrations of the technology during the meeting.
Voyager DSLT offers automated laser treatment for glaucoma
Alcon will also showcase Voyager DSLT as part of its glaucoma portfolio. The system uses automated SureTrac eye-tracking technology to deliver laser pulses through the limbus to the trabecular meshwork. The company is positioning the technology as a first-line treatment option for patients with glaucoma.
Tryptyr highlighted for dry eye disease
Beyond its surgical and device portfolio, Alcon will feature Tryptyr (acoltremon ophthalmic solution) 0.003% for the treatment of dry eye disease.
Tryptyr is a neuromodulator eye drop designed to stimulate natural tear production. According to Alcon, the therapy can increase natural tear production beginning on the first day of treatment. The company plans to provide information at its exhibit about the treatment's mechanism of action and its role in dry eye disease management.
Attendees can explore Alcon's technologies and demonstrations at booth 1519 during AAO 2026.
