The Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee of the Vit-Buckle Society (VBS) said that its annual meeting, originally scheduled for March 26-28 in Miami, has been officially cancelled, according to a email sent to its members on Friday. Previously, the meeting was designated as postposed.
“Due to the projected ongoing effects of the pandemic, we have made the decision to cancel this year’s meeting. Safety of our industry partners, members, patients, and families are of the highest priority,” the message read.
VBS stated that:
- If you booked a hotel room at the Fontainebleau, your reservation will be cancelled by the hotel, if it hasn’t been cancelled already, and the deposit will be refunded within 7 business days.
- The meeting registration will be refunded in full within the next 14 business days. You will receive an email from email@example.com with a confirmation once it is processed. Please contact Carrie if you have any questions.
- Regarding your industry support, Carrie Jacobowitz will be in touch next week.
The next VBS annual meeting will be held April 8-10, 2021, at ARIA, in Las Vegas.
“In the meantime, please look out for ongoing online content on the VBS website, including the VBS Blog and Vit Buckle Academy. We are also considering a host of other virtual retina activities to bring the VBS community together to discuss the most exciting surgeries and developments in our field,” according to VBS.
