MellingMedical, a provider of medical supplies, equipment, devices and pharmaceuticals to federal health facilities across the country under the VA’s “Veterans First” procurement program, announced a vital distribution relationship with Katena Products, a provider of specialty surgical and consumable ophthalmic and optometric products. Under the agreement, Katena’s cutting edge products have been added to MellingMedical’s Federal Supply Schedule, making them more readily available to federal health facilities and the patients they serve.
“This relationship with a world class company like Katena is right in line with our goal to make the best possible medical products available to America’s veterans, military and other patients of federal health care facilities,” Chris Melling, founder of the CVE-verified Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, said in a company news release. “Knowing the impact their products can have on the lives of these important patients, we’re proud to make them easier to find and order.”
Known for its ability to deliver a broad array of medical equipment, supplies and pharmaceuticals to federal facilities across the country, MellingMedical was first founded to focus on ophthalmic solutions. Adding Katena’s current suite of products (and others that may be added as the company grows through acquisition) to the MellingMedical offerings only strengthens the company’s ability to service patients’ diverse needs.
“Partnering with MellingMedical provides us with an opportunity to combine Katena’s reputation for quality ophthalmic products and services with Melling’s well-established presence in the federal purchasing system, particularly within ophthalmology,” Mark Fletcher, CEO, said in the news release. “We view this partnership as in the best interest of both companies, but also for the patient, in this case, our nation’s veterans.”
