Bausch + Lomb announced that Joseph Gordon has been named US president, Bausch + Lomb. In this role, Mr. Gordon will oversee the fully integrated U.S. eye care business, inclusive of all four business units – Vision Care, Consumer Health, Surgical, and Pharmaceuticals. He will report directly to chairman and CEO of Bausch Health, Joseph C. Papa.
“Bausch + Lomb is an integral part of our business and the largest of the four Bausch Health segments, representing more than 50% of our revenues,” Mr. Papa said in a company news release. “The expansion of Joe’s role reflects the company’s focus on driving growth through our continued transformation – from recently changing our name to Bausch Health and realigning our operating and reportable segments – and the opportunity to build upon Bausch + Lomb’s leadership in eye health as we continue to invest in this important core business. As we look to the next phase of growth for Bausch Health, I am confident that Joe’s strong management background and proven track record of success will further accelerate the growth of Bausch + Lomb, ultimately helping to improve the vision of patients.”
Mr. Gordon was most recently the president of Bausch + Lomb’s Consumer Health and Vision Care businesses. During his 7-year tenure at the company, he has led the Bausch + Lomb Consumer Healthcare business to achieve consecutive industry-leading growth for the past 6 years, bolstered in part by key over-the-counter (OTC) brands such as new Lumify redness reliever eye drops, the No. 1 doctor recommended redness reliever and Biotrue multi-purpose solution, the No. 1 multi-purpose solution in households. Both key contact lens brands in Vision Care, Bausch + Lomb ULTRA and Biotrue ONEday, are also the fasting growing in their respective segments.
