Eye Care Leaders (ECL) announced the acquisition of iMedicWare, a provider of integrated EHR, practice management, ambulatory surgery center software, and optical solutions designed exclusively for eye care practices.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
ECL has named Arun Kapur, the founder and CEO of iMedicWare, to head their portfolio of technology solutions, including EHR, practice management, and other software. With more than a decade in the industry, Mr. Kapur is a trusted name in ophthalmic software and technology. He brings to his new role as the leader of ECL’s software business his NJ-based team, extensive eye care experience, customer service focus, and a strong record of proven results.
“As partners, we share the same vision of providing our customers with dynamic applications and services suitable for the continuously evolving ophthalmic landscape,” Mr. Kapur said in a company news release. “I look forward to leveraging ECL’s resources and innovation to complement and enhance not only iMedicWare’s top-of-the-line suite of solutions, but the host of other technology offerings within the portfolio, to benefit the ophthalmic and optometric community.”

iMedicWare will provide the technology platform necessary for Eye Care Leaders to offer a comprehensive, fully-integrated solution. In addition, iMedicWare also makes possible for ECL to offer iMedicWare’s ASC, a fully integrated, comprehensive solution to meet every aspect of an Ophthalmic Ambulatory Surgery Center’s needs. iMedicWare’s ASC includes remote surgical scheduling, customizable consents, inventory management, and other solutions for ophthalmic and multi-specialty ambulatory surgery centers.

Both companies will be exhibiting at the AAO 2017 conference in New Orleans on November 11-14. They will be showcasing the new solutions and offering hands-on demonstrations throughout the weekend at booths #3714 and #4939 in the exhibit hall.
