Ellex Appoints David Lubeck, MD, as Chief Medical Officer

Ellex Medical Lasers Limited announced the appointment of David Lubeck, MD, as Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Lubeck is a world-renowned cataract, corneal and refractive surgeon. He will play an instrumental role in driving the clinical and commercial development of the company’s portfolio of interventional, restorative treatment technologies.
Of his appointment, Dr. Lubeck said, “As CMO at Ellex, I will have the opportunity to act as the voice of both patient and physician within the company as it develops and advances treatment technologies.”
Dr. Lubeck will chair a roundtable discussion at the upcoming American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) meeting in Chicago on Saturday, October 27, to address the role of the Ellex’s proprietary Reflex Technology portfolio in the treatment of symptomatic floater patients. He will also facilitate a number of discussions with key industry stakeholders regarding Ellex’s breakthrough 2RT Retinal Rejuvenation Therapy for the treatment of early-stage AMD during the 2018 meeting of the AAO.
Dr. Lubeck has over 30 years of experience in ophthalmology and is compelled by the methodology and psychology of surgical learning and practice development. His primary focus is to make current surgical principles, techniques, and instrumentation accessible to physicians at all levels of experience and practices of all sizes. Dr. Lubeck completed his medical training at Northwestern University and then his ophthalmology residency at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, Chicago, Illinois. A fellowship in corneal surgery was served at Flinders Medical Center, Adelaide, Australia.     
Dr. Lubeck will continue his work at Arbor Centers for EyeCare while acting as CMO, undertaking a number of initiatives both in the USA and internationally.
