ASCRS announced that it is pushing back its 2021 annual meeting in San Francisco from April to August.

“This decision was thoroughly researched and discussed, and when weighed against the risks of possibly losing another meeting to the coronavirus, we felt we had no other alternative than to move our meeting. This decision provides an additional 4 months of runway for a vaccine to not only be approved, but to be available and administered. The Executive Committee of ASCRS believes this gives us the best opportunity for a successful meeting,” Steve Speares, Executive Director ASCRS, stated in a letter to members.

The new dates for ASCRS 2021 will be August 13-17, 2021.

Mr. Speares said ASCRS will keep as many of its traditional dates for abstract submission, exhibit contract, and eventually registration as close to our historical dates as possible.

Also due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ASCRS leadership also decided to cancel the 2020 Summer Symposium in Austin, Texas set for August.
